About Us
Shoulder360™ provides a comprehensive shoulder course focusing on shoulder repair and reconstructive surgery. Shoulder360™ will redefine the way we think about surgical education of the shoulder. We will always use new methods to engage the attendees, encourage participation, and utilize new educational technologies for a more interactive experience.

Purpose
Shoulder360™ aims to educate the spectrum of health care providers caring for patients with shoulder disorders. Target audience will be practicing surgeons and surgeons in training, nurses, physician assistants, and physical therapists with a practice focus on shoulder disease. Shoulder360™ wants participants to learn about the newest and best ways to treat their patients while enjoying a setting designed to foster lifelong friendships and collaboration.
Course Directors
Paul Sethi, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine conditions of the elbow, knee and shoulder. He is a leading research physician who speaks at academic and instructional medical conferences in the US and abroad. His research on surgical advances in his specialty is regularly published in leading medical journals, including the Journal for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, Arthroscopy, and the Journal of American Academy for Orthopaedic Surgery. He also collaborates with outside companies for education and research purposes and to develop medical procedures on the shoulder, elbow and knee. Dr. Sethi is a member of the prestigious American Shoulder and Elbow Society and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is President of the ONS Foundation for Clinical Research and Education(ONSF).

As President of the ONSF, Dr. Sethi’s research has recently included clinical study of the non-opioid solutions for post-surgical pain management; the establishment of better methods for surgical skin preparation (cleaning) to lower the risk of surgical infection; development of a new technique to repair chronic or weakened biceps tendons; and the evaluation of surgical needles in tendon surgery to establish international guidelines on needle use.

Dr. Abboud is an internationally recognized authority for the treatment of shoulder and elbow disorders. He is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and has recently completed a four year term as Senior Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute.

Dr. Abboud graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Joseph’s University and received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He went on to residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, and subsequently completed two fellowships there in advanced Shoulder and Elbow surgery and orthopaedic biomechanics. In addition, he has recently completed the general management program at the Harvard Business School.

His passion for teaching has been acknowledged by the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, Deans Award for Excellence in Education. He has routinely been recognized for excellence in patient care by his peers.

Dr. Abboud performs a wide variety of simple and complex surgical procedures on the shoulder and elbow including arthroscopic surgery (e.g. rotator cuff repairs, instability surgery) comprehensive fracture care, as well as shoulder and elbow replacement (arthroplasty) procedures. His goal is to always provide each patient with exceptional personalized care.

Dr. Raffy Mirzayan graduated from the University of Southern California School of Medicine with Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Los Angeles County, University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, where he was Chief Resident. He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, where he served as the assistant team physician to the Lakers, Dodgers, Angels, Kings, Galaxy, Sparks. Dr. Mirzayan is currently a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. He is the Director of Cartilage Repair and Restoration, Director of Resident Education, the Co-Director of Sports Medicine and at Kaiser Permanente, Baldwin Park, CA.

Dr. Mirzayan has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. He has received several awards including the AOA-Zimmer Award, Vernon P. Thompson Award and DePuy Research Award. He has presented his work at various national and international meetings. He has published three books in the field of orthopaedics and sports medicine. He serves on several committees of local and national orthopaedic, sports medicine, and shoulder societies. His orthopaedic interests include athletic injuries of the knee, shoulder and elbow, including ligament repair and reconstruction, arthroscopy and cartilage restoration and repair.
